Gonga24 was conceived as a response to the growing need for reliable, culturally relevant, and digitally accessible media content. The idea was developed by its founder after identifying gaps in local representation, content ownership, and independent broadcasting.  

From its inception, Gonga24 has grown steadily from concept to a functional media platform, expanding into television, digital media, and online distribution. The platform continues to evolve with technology, audience needs, and global media standards.

Gonga24 Media is a Nigerian-owned media organization originally established as an e-commerce initiative between 2017–2020, and later restructured into a radio and television broadcasting platform in 2023.  

Gonga24 is founded and operated by Dr. Engr. GCIC, PIID Abukhalid J. Hassan Toungos, who formally assumed the role of Founder and Chief Executive Officer in February 2023.  

Gonga24 operates in compliance with applicable laws and regulations of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, including media and broadcasting regulations under the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) and other relevant regulatory authorities.
